My 2023 Sneaker of the Year - Jordan 4 SB "Pine Green."
Jordan Brand's enduring partnership with Nike's skateboarding division has primarily explored the Air Jordan 1's history as a skate shoe from the 1980s. This time, the collaborative effort shifts a couple of models forward to the Jordan 4, a shoe with fewer iconic skateboarding moments but a justified place in the realm of skate shoes.
The inclusion of "SB" serves as a clever play on words, signifying not only "skateboarding" but also paying homage to "Sandy Bodecker," the late Nike legend who played a pivotal role in developing the original Jordan 4 before spearheading the Nike SB initiative in the early 2000s.
Perfect in so many ways, especially for a Celtics fan such as myself!
