CDC Supporting Survivors: Sally and Gloria’s Story

If someone in your life is going through a difficult time, the best thing you can do for them is show up - it makes a difference.

After Sally learned she had breast cancer at 26, her best friend Gloria was there to support her through everything. Together, they discovered the importance of open communication and the impact of emotional support. They now aim to empower fellow survivors by sharing valuable advice on how to ask for help and how to provide support to loved ones after a breast cancer diagnosis.

For this assignment, I was brought in to photograph a behind-the-scenes look of a video production for the CDC. It's always exciting to be part of these projects, as my goal is to capture the essence of the creative process but also the fun and interesting moments that unfold throughout a shoot day. They often end in an impromptu portrait session, adding a personalized touch to the overall documentation.
